A citizen big data to tackle the housing crisis: eVoost launches Quórum to map real demand
eVoost AI has launched Quórum, a free tool where citizens register the housing they need: where they want to live, what their home needs, whether they want to buy or rent, their budget and the barriers they face today. Responses are organised by locality to build a collective picture of expressed housing need, to be passed on to town councils, regional governments and the relevant administrations for residential planning.
The initiative does not replace official statistics or administrative procedures, and taking part does not guarantee that a home will be built or allocated. Each user also receives indicative information about their own situation from public sources: what they can reasonably spend, prices in their area, compatible zones and relevant public programmes.
In Spain we know in great detail the housing that exists, what is for sale, what has sold and at what price. We know much less, in a structured and continuous way, about the housing that does not yet exist and that people need. We are missing the other half of the equation: the citizens.
